Free Internet Phones

The phone companies have had it all their way for a long time but now it is your turn. Free Internet Phone and Free Internet Phone Calls are real and are here now.

It is not expensive to set up and you can be making free broadband phone calls.

The technical term for free internet phones or free broadband phone is VoIP, or Voice over Internet Protocol.

Basically it is a technology for altering the sound you hear when you talk on the phone which is analog into digital data. This digital data is then able to travel via the internet and change back into analog at the other end. This enables you to use your phone over the internet which results in you by passing your phone company and so making your PC phone calls free.

To get started making free internet phone calls you will need a few items:-

• An Audio Headset with built in microphone.
• An account with the free broadband phone provider.
• A software package to allow the calls

Now before you get too excited about making free calls to everyone you know around the world, there are a few down sides and points to note.

A free internet phone service will tie you to your computer. You will need to be on your computer to make calls. And you'll have to use the headphones and microphone. To start a call you will need to use the keyboard and mouse to get connected.

And when someone calls you, you will need to hurry to your computer, strap on the headset, and use the mouse and keyboard to answer the phone.

Also, and this is a big one, generally the person you are calling or is calling you will need to be with the same provider in order for the calls to be free. Other wise fees will be charged and it might be worth looking at an internet phone system that is phone based with monthly fees.
